Stampin' With Michelle Pepper

Today's card showcase the longest serving stamp set at Stampin' Up! - Lovely As a Tree. It is the same technique as described in my earlier post  For this particular card, I have also spritz on the gold glimmer mix, thus giving it an incredible sheen. Happy Stampin' folks.

How is that for an amazing view from your backyard? Our family have just been to Queenstown, the world's 4th friendliest place where the boys got to experience many "first-s" (ski, gondola, luge, extravagant hotel/apartment), beginning with their very first time being on-board a flying plane. I won't go into details about the trip, except to explain how it has  anything to do with today's card. It was just so lovely to be welcomed into a city we've not been before as a family by being invited to lunch with a local resident. Gill is our friend's mum whom we have met probably about 5 times in Auckland. She welcomed us so warmly, fed us lunch and took the time to show us on the map where the attractions are. I was overwhelmed with gratitude and of course was designing a thank you card in my head while I sat at her dining table. I am really starting this journey with a hiss and a roar...created 2 cards tonight! Freshly Made Sketches is a weekly challenge blog, with new sketches posted on Wednesdays. Below is the sketch for this week . Provided I don't change my mind, this card will be given to a happy couple for their wedding in August. Wow, I am super organised, for a change! The flowers are done using the Faux Stained Glass technique. Stamp the image in versamark on Vellum card stock, cover with White Emboss Powder, heat emboss then let dry. Turn the vellum over, and colour the back of the image. I tried two ways of colouring...the lighter flowers were coloured using a blender pen to pick up Calypso Coral from the inkpad. The darker flower was sponged with Calypso Coral. The blender pen way created a more subtle look, whereas the sponged way is a lot quicker!
