Stampin' With Michelle Pepper

These were quick to put together, thanks to Stampin' Up! Tiny Treat Boxes from the Holiday Catalogue. For just $14.50, I got 25 boxes all pre cut already so I just have to assemble together, no adhesive required. I already had a ton of red 1" circles cut out from another project I did with peeps several years ago (yup, I have kept them all these years, thinking I will put it to good use one day!). As it was pretty late at night on the 1 Dec when I put these together, I decided to just hand write the numbers in Chalkboard Pen. These boxes are all filled with 6 treats each for the 6 members of our family (sigh, little 3yr old gets them too, even though with my firstborn, he would not have been allowed sweet treats every day when he was 3 yrs old!) I am trying hard where possible to be efficient. I needed a 1-3/4" Scallop Circle for my Hedgehog card and being ever mindful, I punched it out in such a way that the "negative" Chocolate Chip Card Stock can easily be used also. I do this often, but the problem is that these "negatives" would soon build into a stash of awkward scraps getting entangled with each other. So this time, since I already have a stash of scraps out, I quickly set to work with this negative piece of card stock. I found a small piece of this retired DSP from some time ago, which is of Real Red, Olive Green and Very Vanilla stripes - the perfect and very popular partners with Chocolate Chip. I loved it even more when I, quite unintentionally, layered the DSP on an angle beneath the Chocolate Chip. I am participating in another card swap over at Stamp Nation , so I thought the recent trend of the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch Closure Card would be ideal for this Fancy Fold card swap. But I changed my mind (hahaha, SN members, for a minute there did you think I was giving away the surprise?!). Instead, we made this at my May's Class last Friday evening. It's Master JP's birthday in 2 days' time so I thought I'll try and make him a card based on this week's CASE Study Challenge. My initial idea didn't actually come together. I wonder if there are many entries like mine, where the initial idea met a few bumps along the way so that the end result wasn't really what you first had in mind at all! I have used one of the Epic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape from Stampin Up, this time I adhered to the Summer Starfruit card stock because I thought it will bring about some cohesiveness to the colour choices on the card. I had originally intended to only use the 2012-13 In Colours, which I did almost succeed, except in the end I had to bring in the Sycamore St DSP, and the washi tape. Oh, and the black embossed sentiment.
