Stampin' With Michelle Pepper

Today, at my monthly Mum & Me class, we made these lovely, quite classical, mini purses. I presented the purses in the array of colours that are Stampin' Up!'s In Colours for 2015-17. Beginning from the left is Cucumber Crush, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, and lastly on the right, Delightful Dijon. Have you got a favourite In-Colour? Well, my choice would be Tip Top Taupe if I am looking for an exciting and new Neutral other than Black, White or Crumb Cake (all of which are my go to's so sometimes I feel I may have overdone those). But in this case, what with all the purses before my eyes, I am just loving the Mint Macaron with a hint of Tip Top Taupe: The stripes pattern pieces are from the Envelope Paper (#138312) and the Taupe pieces have been embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (#133520). The flowers are made with the oldie but a goodie Scallop Circle 1-3/4" punch (#119854) - punch out six of these scallop circles, ...

Quick and Easy card using discarded pieces from various projects. This card is all about layers - and shapes (we got a circle, a banner, a square frame, and some flowers). It took quite a bit of deliberation as to what colour the mat should be. In the end I decided that either Crushed Curry or Tangerine Tango and even  a Pear Pizzazz mat would take the focus off the "daffodil". So I settled on using Crumb Cake as the sentiment was stamped with Crumb Cake. What do you think? As a demonstrator, we get the Impressions publication every two months from Stampin' Up. These are jam packed with ideas and training tips. This month I have been challenged by one of the articles about not neglecting the poor old envelope. It is so true that envelopes often take a back seat. The dear humble envelope can be so much more - just like the present itself is dressed up with a fancy package, so can the handmade card be dressed up with its envelope. It is another opportunity to say something about the recipient of your lovingly handmade card. So I made a special effort with the project for my "Connect through Creativity" class this month. What do you think? I would write the recipient's name on the heart die cut. The envelope can be re-used simply by removing the heart die cut which is only clipped to the clothespin. Stampin' Up! 2014-2015 catalogue just launched at the beginning of this month, and that means the introduction of a new set of "In Colours". So, these are super quick and simple cards to show case the colours: Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist, Lost Lagoon, Black Berry Bliss and Hello Honey. Do you like them? Drawn to one in particular? Drawn to ALL of them? In Colours provide a way for Stampin' Up! to be up with the latest colour trends, without changing their standard colour families (Brights, Subtles, Regals, Neutrals) on a yearly basis. Every year there's a new set of In Colours which will be valid for two years, so that at any given time, we have ten trendy In Colours to play with, in addition to the 40 colours in the four colour families.
