Remarkable You Corner Flip Card

Fancy fold cards are one of my favourites to make, and I realise that I haven't actually done many of them lately. Actually, make that, "for a long while!" At the recent Creative Inkers Team's July Extravaganza in Auckland, we made five projects and one of them is the Corner Flip card (see pic below). This look is actually easier to create than you think, and if you want to learn how to make it, you are welcomed to come along to my Monthly class tomorrow. For the card above, I went with the classic black and white theme, with a bit of colour. I had a leftover water coloured Remarkable You flower from two weeks ago which was the perfect focal point I needed for the card. The end result looks very different to the original (pic below) that I CASED from. I am ok with that. More importantly, I feel so satisfied with my little black and white number ;-) And it is perfect for entry into the Stampin Royalty Challenge #290. SR#290 Auckland Extravaganza ...

Double Display Card with Painted Petals #2

Just wanna showcase the cards made by attendees to my Friday class last Friday :-) This one here is on the ever classic Cherry Cobbler. And this is Sandra, the creator of the featured card for today's blog post :-) What you wouldn't have guessed is that this was her first time stamping and her first experience with Stampin' Up! products!  And now the good news is that I am repeating this class on Tuesday so I'd love you to come join us: Thanks so much for stopping - I hope you are inspired one way or another :-)

Summer Silhouettes Polka Dot Pieces Perfect Pennants

Does this card seem familiar? It is my CASE of one of the projects I got to make at the recent Auckland Party Time event. I haven't (yet) got the Choose Happiness stamp set, so I set about a challenge for myself to CASE the Kraft Grid line Journal cover (see below) with the stamp sets I already have. Original Make & Take from event: Well, I can't stop at just one card, so I also came up with the card below in a softer colour palette. It is also another excuse to use the Good Greetings stamp set, which, until the 31 October,  is the Hostess' when she host a party with the qualifying sales. What do you think?  I hope you found it helpful to see how a card can be CASED, using stamps that you already have. It's no guarantee though, that you will not crave (all the more even) for the very stamp set you don't have that was used in the original project :-) Oh, that was quite a mouthful, lol!

Queenstown Thank You Gill

How is that for an amazing view from your backyard? Our family have just been to Queenstown, the world's 4th friendliest place where the boys got to experience many "first-s" (ski, gondola, luge, extravagant hotel/apartment), beginning with their very first time being on-board a flying plane. I won't go into details about the trip, except to explain how it has  anything to do with today's card. It was just so lovely to be welcomed into a city we've not been before as a family by being invited to lunch with a local resident. Gill is our friend's mum whom we have met probably about 5 times in Auckland. She welcomed us so warmly, fed us lunch and took the time to show us on the map where the attractions are. I was overwhelmed with gratitude and of course was designing a thank you card in my head while I sat at her dining table. My eyes went back and forth from the view out of her dining area, the majestic snow-capped mountains (the above picture was f...
