Stampin' With Michelle Pepper

Great little purse card we made at my May's "Mum & Me" class .The design of the card was from my upline's upline, affectionately dubbed my SU Grandma, Heather Stewart. Isn't she a clever lady to come up with her own design? Thank you Heather. Happy Mother's Day for tomorrow everyone!

As promised, albeit late, show casing the Friday night girls' creations. The one above is by Ana. Gotta love them jewel rhinestones for covering up smudges or unwanted ink spots! That trick never fails :-) Irene's: Let me now introduce the newest member of my Stampin' Family, Juliet Hope.  I am so excited, and Juliet is so excited too, so we're in for a good time! She's also a scrapbooker, so I look forward to getting some scrapping tips from this multi talented mama of five boys.  Juliet's #1, followed by #2 when she experimented with a different colour, ie Blackberry Bliss. Margarita's: Rachel's #1, followed by #2 when she experimented with Daffodil Delights/Pumpkin Pie combo - just stunning! Didn't they do well? I love their individual spin on the original card.

Of the 11 incredibly irresistible FREE Sale-A-Bration (SAB) items to choose from, the Lotus Blossom stamp set was one of the first ones I chose. This is a 3-step stampin blossom - and isn't the result amazing? This is one of the freebie items when you spend $110 during Sale-A-Bration time, until March 31st 2015. You can use the "stampin off" technique to create a depth of 3 colours by just using one colour, especially if it is a dark colour like the Blackberry Bliss, or as in my case above, I used 2 colours (Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe) to create the 3 colour look. The patterned paper I used here is from the new Stacked With Love DSP Stack from the new Occasions Catalogue . I also added the Gold Baker's Twine , just because I think the card deserves some gold :-) The sentiment is from a retired set named Well Scripted, which has my favourite birthday sentiment of all time. Wow, it's the end of the month already? Hmm, I can't let the month end without sharing about this stationery set which I was inspired to make for a friend.  Three convincing reasons for my making the effort to make this set: 1) My friend is American, and while the thing she loves about being in New Zealand is me (ok, ok, I am not the only reason - ha! - among many other reasons), I know she misses her family and her life in the States. So over there, her birthday would be in Autumn, not Spring as it is in New Zealand. Hence the reason I chose to use this retired (but right now on clearance, so you can either purchase through emailing me or click here ) Sweater Weather DSP which screams Autumn colors to me.  2) She's a fan of Charles Dickens, and I love, not only the friendship we have, but also the friendship between her children and mine. The perfect stamp for it therefore is one that is from the From My Heart stamp set.  3) She shares my love ...

Today's card is a fancy fold card known as a Never Ending Card. It is sooooo much fun to play with this card. The above shot is the front cover of the card. It opens up from the centre to reveal the next page/side as below: It's the purple page - the recipient of this card, my lovely niece's favourite colour. You then flip open the middle two square panels to reveal the third page/side as below: The reason for the occasion, and the card, was to celebrate her turning 16 years old, hence the 16 candles. I wanted it colourful, but would have trouble choosing the colours if it weren't for SU!'s In Colours range. SU! releases a new In-Colour range every year - there are 5 co-ordinating colours. I am really starting this journey with a hiss and a roar...created 2 cards tonight! Freshly Made Sketches is a weekly challenge blog, with new sketches posted on Wednesdays. Below is the sketch for this week . Provided I don't change my mind, this card will be given to a happy couple for their wedding in August. Wow, I am super organised, for a change! The flowers are done using the Faux Stained Glass technique. Stamp the image in versamark on Vellum card stock, cover with White Emboss Powder, heat emboss then let dry. Turn the vellum over, and colour the back of the image. I tried two ways of colouring...the lighter flowers were coloured using a blender pen to pick up Calypso Coral from the inkpad. The darker flower was sponged with Calypso Coral. The blender pen way created a more subtle look, whereas the sponged way is a lot quicker!
