Six Sided Sampler Stamp Nation Birthday Bash Challenge #3

Stamp Nation is a community of fabulously caring and supportive crafters and is the brain child of Catherine Pooler. Stamp Nation turned 3 on Jan 11th, so it's party time and with that comes prizes to win! Check out Catherine's youtube video here .  We are also celebrating at Stamp Nation this week with daily challenges. This one is for challenge #3 which is to participate in one of the SN challenges that were in the month you joined up. I chose the Colour My World challenge, which was to use a spectrum of colours. Naturally, one thinks of the rainbow for "spectrum of colours" but I wanted to challenge myself to use a colour combo that aren't immediately obvious to me. So I went on pinterest and was not disappointed.    This card relies on the Stamp-a-ma-jig tool to line it all up. This is an awesome tool that I would consider a Must Have.  SU Colours used were: So Saffron, Smoky Slate, Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo, Always Artichoke, with a...

Six Sided Sampler

Just having a play with this stamp set which I have had for a couple of months at least. Finally mounted the stamps today and had a play. I used SU markers to highlight the letters on the hexagons to spell "Birthday." As I said, I was having a play :-)

Positive Negative

Do the leaves on this card look familiar? It is the "left over scrap" from this Freshly Made Sketches winning card . The leaves in that card were cut out from a piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock. What did I do with the "negatives", ie the part left over? By laying it over a piece of Basic Black card stock, I made it the main feature on the card pictured above. Let me encourage you, next time you go to use your dies or framelits or punches, think strategically about using the "negatives". By the way, this card was promptly sold about two days after I made it. I was still deciding whether to put a sentiment on it, and if so, what kind (birthday, thinking of you, thank you, sympathy, get well...oh the decisions!). Apparently, "blank" cards can be popular too. I'd love to hear your feedback - cards with a sentiment, or no?

CASology Cue: Fish

Often I get a stamp set out to play, only to then search google and pinterest for a card I'd then CASE (Copy And Share Everything). True to my nature, I often don't stick to the design in its entirety, but that's how I'd start off. I am now at the point where I think I am ready to develop further. I think participating in challenges might just be the thing to stretch me, and, to help me spend less time on the computer browsing to more time actually creating the cards I enjoy making and giving. So I spent some time one evening looking at many challenge blogs and websites, and have marked a few that I'd like to participate in on a regular basis. Today, I get to share with you my first card challenge. It feels good to start on this journey. Today's card is for this week's CASology challenge, with the cue word "Fish". I don't have any fish stamps, but I do have the Stampin' Up!'s Happy Whale Clearlits Die (#129403). With 4...
