Little Letters Thinlits Home Card

It has been a wee while since I participated in challenges - so when I got inspired by two challenges and there are no other pressing deadlines for me to meet tonight (lol), I got stamping :-) JAI#127: Just Add Typography I am always admiring those typography wall art print at the shops so when I first saw the Just Add Ink #267 Challenge , I thought about it and knew it would be a challenge indeed for me to try and arrange all the words together. And sure enough, it was hard! I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #128 . I am pleased with the end result, even if the stamping is a bit crooked here and there. I was going to frame this little number for our home, but remembered that our new neighbours have just moved into their newly bought home this weekend. Three of our family friends, currently living very near us, are all moving, in the next week/months - one family going to the UK for a year (sob for us, but yay for the UK). So now I have a dilemma as to who...

Punch Art Hedgehog 4x4 card

It is very possible that the internet is not doing much good for my creativity in the sense that I really don't need to work things out for myself. Then again, it is good for my creativity in the sense that I am spending more time making, not just thinking. Technically, I suppose, the first is creativity, and the second is crafting. Well, I comfort my ego by noting that while I found a picture of a card Michelle Suit made, she didn't say how she made it so actually, I did have to work it out for myself. And oh, she used a punch which I don't have for the face, so I was being creative in substituting it with what I have, the now retired Full Heart punch. The end of the matter though - isn't she a cutie? And just for the record, I had to google to confirm that hedgehogs do eat strawberries - indeed they do! Tell me you are like that too - having to get the details right. Sometimes anyway :-) Special message *** This one is for you, dear Rach. With much love, M xx...

Just Sayin' Woo-hoo!

How versatile is this card? Woo-hoo! It's your birthday! Woo-hoo! You did it! Woo-hoo! You are engaged! Woo-hoo! Congratulations! Woo-hoo! You have a new baby! I love cards like this - you can have them on hand, then when the time comes, just put the right sentiment on it and away you go. This card also shows ways to use up scraps of pretty paper using the Owl Builder punch (#118074) and the Banner punch (which was a SAB offering but if you missed out then, you'll be delighted to know it is in the new catalogue therefore available for sale from 1 July in the South Pacific). Even the strip of Pool Party was a scrap that I had saved up from previous projects. I stamped the "Happy" using the Alphabet Rotary stamp (another sneak peek from the new catalogue!) Add a matching bookmark to take this card to the next level of cuteness and make it truly a "one-of-a-kind" card. I am entering this in the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 318 Not ex...

Wings and Hearts Punches

In the last post I asked you to guess what else were in the upcycled gift bags I recently donated to the Auckland Home Educators Art & Craft Fair. The answer is, of course, some hand made cards :-)  Well, I wanted to add some hand made cards too, and of course, I didn't think of the idea till the last minute, so I put these together the night before the event. Fortunately, these came together very quickly - thanks to beautiful patterned paper and punches.  I made a set of 3x3 cards and a set of 4x4 cards, dictated by the amount of matching patterned paper that I have. This retired DSP, Love Amore, is an old favourite. The co-ordinating envelopes were a breeze to make with our Envelope Punch Board - love that tool! Some close up pictures for your enjoyment :-) This next card features the Banner Blast stamp set and its co-ordinating Banner Punch that you can get for FREE during Sale-a-bration (SAB) time. Spend $110 during SAB and you'll get one free item, ...
