Encircled In Friendship

You've got to love it when a card comes together fairly quickly!

Have you heard of CASE? It stands for Copy and Selectively Edit. Yes, in the world of crafting, there's no shame in copying! I love CASEing and see how different a card can look when you vary the elements - different stamps, different colours, changing the orientation...you can pretty much edit anything or nothing!

For this card, I had CASEd a beautiful card given to me by a dear friend and fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. I love Susan Wong's work, and often take inspiration from the projects she shares. So, if you are a beginner stamper, and/or if you are not confident, then I encourage you to look at the works of others, and pay special attention to the projects you are drawn to. CASE their work. As you keep stamping, you will find that you grow in confidence and likely to develop your own style.

Have a look at the original card and the CASEd card below.

I did not use a single thing that Susan used because, well, I was using scraps off my desk (apart from the Smoky Slate card base). That's another tip - do not throw away "rejects" from other projects. Keep them in a bowl or basket and regularly put together a card with things from it. I mean look at my card - it has an incomplete floral diecut from the Many Layered Blossoms die, a heart, a bee, some ribbon ends that were trim off other projects and a scrap piece of Pool Party stamped tone on tone with the floral image from the Encircled In Friendship stamp set. It was a lot of fun and as I said earlier, it came together quite quickly. And I am thinking, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Mango Melody and Smoky Slate is quite a fun colour combination. Hmm, might just be the inspiration I need for a future project....watch this space! Oh, did you noticed the embossed background? It is from the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder - that is certainly not just a folder to be used for Christmas cards only.

I am so glad you stopped by today. I hope you are encouraged to find a card to CASE now. As always, if you have any questions, I am happy to help you.

Until next post, have fun stamping!
