Would you have guessed that today's card is actually a CASE of the following card, which I shared yesterday?
That's the beauty of CASE which stands for Copy And Selectively Edit. The inspiration of one card could take you in many directions. Often I get asked how do you come up with all the ideas, to which I love to quote from the Bible: "There is nothing new under the sun." The secret is CASE - which really isn't a secret as CASEing is highly encouraged in the cardmaking community. Let's take a closer look at my card today and compare it with the card I drew inspiration from:
There are several elements/aspects of the original card that I have "selectively edited". For example, the Designer Series Paper is prominent in the original card, but I don't yet have that paper, so I decided to emboss my Coastal Cabana with the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder. Instead of a colourful background, I have "selectively edited" it to a single solid colour background. Another example is the pop of Berry Burst flowers in the Designer Series Paper that I was drawn to so I decided to pull that colour in and made it the "popping" colour against this very monochromatic Coastal Cabana card.
