Friendly Hello For A Sympathy Card

Today, I am sharing another card made with the popular Friendly Hello stamp set.

Most of the time, we make cards for happy occasions. Sympathy cards are usually not high on my to do list. However, it is always a good idea to have some sympathy cards handy, because well, you sometimes need one unexpectedly.

I heard the news of a dear mentor's passing yesterday. I have never met her, but I, like many in the Charlotte Mason homeschooling community globally, consider her a mentor as her tireless work and feedback and comments/responses on forums encourage, exhort, and cheer us on our journey to provide the best education we can, however imperfectly, for ourselves and our children. So the news of her passing was numbing - you know, when you can't seem to do anything as you try to cope with the unwanted news.

Making this card helped.

I couldn't get Wendi off my thoughts, so making a card in her honour seemed like a fitting thing to do.

It was soothing to stamp those floral images from Friendly Hello in a wreath shape, to colour in ever so lightly with our Stampin' Blends (Pool Party, Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight) and Pear Pizzazz marker.

To add some interest on the card, but still keeping it clean and simple, I stamped the duo floral image in versamark on the Basic White Card base and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It's quite faint in the photo above, so I took another one to hopefully show it more clearly.

I think there are no more comforting words than that which can be found in Scriptures, so I will finish off this post with Psalm 34:18:

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Shalom my friends xx
