Amazing Silhouettes in Soft Succulent for Monochromatic Monday

Today, my Monochromatic Monday share is this Amazing Silhouettes Card in Soft Succulent.

Here are some ideas to create interest when creating a single solid colour card (as distinguished from a monochromatic card that has a lot of a neutral colour like white. See my Monochromatic card in Flirty Flamingo here). Adding Dry Embossing, ie use an Embossing Folder, will add instant texture to your card. I went to grab the Hive 3D Embossing Folder, but realised I haven't actually got it (doh!), so I used my retired Hexagons Dynamic Folder as a substitute instead.  I stamped the gorgeous tree image from Amazing Silhouettes in Soft Succulent ink on a 2-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock. I carefully used the backing sticker of the stamp as a mask (I previously shared this trick here) over the tree image as I blended more Soft Succulent ink onto the Basic White piece. This way the tree stays white but the rest of the Basic White card is now varying shades of Soft Succulent. I spritzed some water on it to add more interest to the background. It was interesting to see the colours that are in the base to make up the Soft Succulent colour exposed - the blues, and the greys.

The design of this card was inspired by the Sketch Challenge this month over at Stampin Fancy Friday. #stampinfancyfriday #fancyfridaychallenges I love sketches by my lovely friend Jennifer Frost.

Now seeing as this was a fairly simple card to make, and the supplies being out on the table already (quite a mess, truth be told, haha) and as I ended up with 3 pieces of the tree image (I was experimenting!), I went ahead and make three cards! That way, I didn't have to only choose one sentiment to use. All three sentiments are from the pretty Blossoms In Bloom stamp set.

Oh, I love seeing them three cards altogether!
