Birthday card, masculine, teen - this is no easy feat for a cardmaker attracted to florals, sparkles and pink! But I soon found I have just the right "ingredients" from Stampin' Up! The card I made above was a CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) of a card made by Canadian Demonstrator, Leah Dixon.
Do you mix and match products from different Suites? That's what I have done here! Let's take a closer look...
The paper is from the new Abstract Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper - found in the new January-June 2022 Mini Catalogue, and the various gold foil hexagon shapes are out of the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue (see below). The HB2U sentiment (teenage txt speak for Happy Birthday To You) is cut out from our Playful Alphabet Dies also from the Annual Catalogue. Tip: I adhered Basic Black cardstock to a Foam Adhesive Sheet, then cut out the letters as desired. I attached a piece of Pool Party to the back to make the sentiment stand out a little more.
Expressions In Ink Ephemera Pack $14.75 NZD |
Ephemera Packs are fast becoming my "must purchase" items from each Stampin' Up! catalogue. With 5 sheets of 10 precut foil pieces each (50 pieces!!!) and 100 adhesive backed sequins in the pack as shown above, this pack is amazing value at that price, and very very convenient - just what a time-poor crafter need in their ready-to-use stash!
Abstract Beauty 4x6 Specialty Designer Series Paper $32 NZD |
The Abstract Beauty is a Designer Series Paper Pack with a difference - because the papers are in 4x6 size! There are 12 double sided designs (so 24 patterns); 4 sheets of each double sided paper so the pack has 48 sheets. The patterns are so fun, you can really just add a sentiment and make multiple cards in no time! Here's another fun fact - I was inspired to use this particular "splatter" pattern in this fun paper pack (bottom right in the picture above) because it reminds me of my son's shirt:
Isn't it awesome that we can find inspiration anywhere we care to look?
