This week, our product highlight is the Just My Type (photopolymer stamp set). Read on to find out why today's card was not what I imagined when I started the process of making it!
I had a layout in my mind that looked something like this:
My first thought would be to use pattern paper for the panel behind the top layer, so feeling adventurous, I decided to do the unexpected - ie instead of using pattern paper, I stamped three rows of Hello. But when I tried to layer the top with a rectangle piece or with the typewriter, it just did not look right. At this point, I very nearly banish the stamped card base to the #scrappile. However, I wondered, why not stamp a few more rows of Hello. I loved the result! So, while I started with a sketch layout, I changed course along the way, following a new inspiration :-)
As for the colours, it's not a combination that I would have come up with. I was looking at the project samples on page 69 of the Annual Catalogue, and the concept artist, Cindy Schuster's colour combination for her rainbows card caught my eye. Calypso Coral, Fresh Freesia and Lemon Lolly. What do you think? Do you try to get outside your comfort zone and deviate from your usual colour choices when making cards? I invite you to join me in making a card with these colours too.
