July 2015 Auckland Extravaganza

Oh, I am so excited to announce the upcoming Extravaganza event on July 25th. Mark your diaries now! This is the first time I will be involved in this much anticipated event (I believe there are 3 of these each year) put on by Stampin' Up! demonstrators from the Creative Inkers Team. What is an Extravaganza? It is a creative and fun afternoon where you get to spend it with like-minded people, and where you get to stamp and create some wonderful projects.  During that time you will make five projects.  This  includes some cards and 3D projects.  You will get to try some of Stampin’ Up!’s newer products and learn some new techniques.   The event starts at 12.30pm, with doors opening at 12pm giving you a chance to look at some of the displays and samples which are there to inspire you. You are welcome to bring along your camera and take photos. Enjoy an afternoon tea, plus go in the draw to win one of our many fabulous spot prizes. There will also be a s...

Celebrate Today

What do you do at 1.30am and you realised you haven't got a birthday card for your son? Of course, you just whip one up! LOL. How do you get inspiration at that time of the day? Easy peasy - the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue 2015-16 is not just a catalogue of craft products, it is brimming with ideas and samples, so you can copy as it is or modify with your own spin on it. And then there are challenges online and in craft online groups to inspire you too. Such as the ColorQ challenge : So with just a few minor changes, I have made the card on page 102 of the Annual Catalogue my own. Even at some crazy hour in the morning where no shops are opened for you to rush out to purchase a card because you know your boy is totally expecting it when he wakes up as a brand new six year old boy :-) Now just a quick reminder, you can join Stampin' Up! anytime, and June is especially a good time to join. Not only do you get $285 worth of SU! products of your c...

#punchitup Creative Challenge

My first completed 12x12 scrapbook page! I couldn't truthfully say my first attempt, for I tried many times but each time after a couple of hours, I still haven't a completed page. Well, here it is at long last. Of course it needs to be framed up to be displayed at all times rather than closed in an album :-) I like the idea of story telling scrapbook so I took some time journalling here: A post in honour of the memory of my loving Mother-in-law. With all our love, M xx

Little Letters Thinlits Home Card

It has been a wee while since I participated in challenges - so when I got inspired by two challenges and there are no other pressing deadlines for me to meet tonight (lol), I got stamping :-) JAI#127: Just Add Typography I am always admiring those typography wall art print at the shops so when I first saw the Just Add Ink #267 Challenge , I thought about it and knew it would be a challenge indeed for me to try and arrange all the words together. And sure enough, it was hard! I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #128 . I am pleased with the end result, even if the stamping is a bit crooked here and there. I was going to frame this little number for our home, but remembered that our new neighbours have just moved into their newly bought home this weekend. Three of our family friends, currently living very near us, are all moving, in the next week/months - one family going to the UK for a year (sob for us, but yay for the UK). So now I have a dilemma as to who...
