Blended Alcohol Background Technique with Many Messages Bundle

I have been INKspired again! Again, I couldn't stop at just one card, so here's a trio of Colour INKspiration Challenge #97 cards.

So the inspiration is...

I love making backgrounds for cards, so I was thinking it is about time I tried the "Blended Alcohol Background" Technique. It really is quite simple. Just colour some random patches of different Stampin' Blends alcohol based markers on a piece of vellum card stock. Then the fun begins. Using an aquapainter, dip into a saucer of isopropyl alcohol (mine was 99% strength) and then brush on to your card stock with the colour patches. Watch the colours run! Once dry, there you have your background piece, ready to be used.

I actually did a quick video on the fly to show the next steps. You can view it here - be warned though, it is unedited with my boys' voices in the background. https://www.facebook.com/stampwithmichelle/videos/488544008829333

As this was my first attempt with this technique, I thought while I already have my supplies out, that I would try it also in Basic White Thick card stock, and Shimmery White card stock.

For my trio of cards, I have used various pieces out of the soon to be retired Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper (#152493), and white embossed sentiments on Basic Black card stock from the Many Messages Bundle (#156272) from the January - June 2021 catalogue. I also used the Gold Metallic Trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo pack (#152475) and the retiring white polka dot tulle ribbon (#146912), as well as the Elegant Faceted Gems (#152464)

Let's take a look at each card:

Now I have one more background piece left, question is: would you cut it down to make two cards, or use the whole piece for one card?

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I hope you are inspired!

As always, if you have any questions, I am happy to help bring out the artist in you xx

Until next post, have fun stamping!
