Free As A Bird #GDP312

I have made today's cards to participate in the Global Design Project Challenge #312

The challenge at #GDP312 this week is to CASE (copy and selectively edit) the following card by designer Madeleine Mrotzek:

I wanted to play with Free As A Bird, a stamp set that I haven't used for a long time. I also had another challenge in mind, a colour challenge from #stampinfancyfriday.

So I combined the two challenges in the first of my cards

This is a one layer card, although I did pop up the bird images. The birds were watercoloured with Coastal Cabana and Old Olive. The background was made with using the blending brush to sponge Real Red ink on a decorative mask. Did you know that this is a very effective way of adding interest to your cards? You get four decorative masks from the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks Pack (#150697).

While I have my supplies out, I decided to try a different colour combo - Misty Moonlight on Smoky Slate. I also have these bird images I had fussy cut out previously from the now retired Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper so it's time to put them on to a card to send out to a friend.

Today, if you are not sure what card to make, why not use either or both these challenges to kick you off - I hope you have enjoyed seeing my cards today.

As always, if you have any questions, I am happy to help you.

Until next post, have fun stamping!
