Embossing Vellum and Decorative Masks

Read on to find out why this card gave me joy indeed!

So back in October, at our team meeting (Online as our region was in lockdown then) we had this fun challenge. There were only four of us at the meeting, so we created a challenge where each person gave an instruction. We chatted through the meeting while each tried to complete the challenge before he meeting ended. It was such a fun and neat experience. Think Masterchef, only it is making a card!

My big takeout from that experience? It really is ok not to overthink things!

So the instructions were:
Add some heat embossing
Add a christmas or birthday sentiment
Add some sponging
Add a vellum layer

Well, it was a good opportunity to see what I already have in the #scrapoffthedesk pile - I rummaged and found the gold embossed wreath on black, the white embossed "joy" on red and the embossed vellum  with the Merriest Frames folder. The only thing I added to pull all these elements together is sponging the crumb cake layer with the dots decorative mask in Real Red (because "joy" was on red). Finally I just went a little crazy with mixing my metallics - champagne rhinestones, gold ribbon and silver metallic trim.

Not bad for putting together a card on the fly, even if I say so myself! The big point was, we had so much fun just being creative, and giving ourselves permission to experiment.

This is what we get up to at Team Meetings. We welcome new members anytime and every time!

Until next post, have fun stamping!
