Butterflies Thinlits Dies

This card was the second project we made in my recent Mum & Me Class. You can view the first project here if you missed it. My card was a result of using scraps of retired paper that I have a stash of. I did not set out with a polka-dotty theme in mind, it just kinda happened :-) Such a super easy card yet so effective - these butterflies are just so intricate and lovely - try in different colours! With the PYO strawberries season still open, perhaps, like Rachel, you're thinking Strawberry Slush: Or, Jill's Elegant Eggplant might be more your flavour?  Or how about a tribute to our beloved - the monarch butterflies: This is the result of the passion and care and patience of the lovely talented 12 year old Miss Julliette! What do ya think? Are you convinced now that you ought to get these Butterflies Thinlit dies? By the way, if you have had bad experience in the past with intricate dies, never fear! Dryer sheet - yes, that's ...

Butterfly Basics and Butterflies Thinlits

Today's post features the new Butterfly Basics photopolymer stamp set and new Butterflies Thinlits Dies from the new Occasions Catalogue. The stamp set actually also comes in wood-mount and clear-mount , and you could also get the stamps and dies as a bundle and save 15%! Now I sometimes get overwhelmed with the choices in a stamp set (there are 11 stamps in this set!) but thankfully, SU!'s catalogues are filled with samples and ideas, so I basically CASEd (Copy and Share Everything) the sample that is on page 26 of the Occasions Catalogue. I do have a hard time copying everything exactly, lol, so my changes included using a button, a different sentiment and the butterflies are die cut/punched from an old scrap piece of retired DSP. Since the card was already designed, I would make two cards at the same time (because one A4 sheet of card stock makes two standard size cards). This means I'd play around with placements and/or colours and/or embellishments. C...

Lotus Blossom Delights

As promised, albeit late, show casing the Friday night girls' creations. The one above is by Ana. Gotta love them jewel rhinestones for covering up smudges or unwanted ink spots! That trick never fails :-) Irene's: Let me now introduce the newest member of my Stampin' Family, Juliet Hope.  I am so excited, and Juliet is so excited too, so we're in for a good time! She's also a scrapbooker, so I look forward to getting some scrapping tips from this multi talented mama of five boys.  Juliet's #1, followed by #2 when she experimented with a different colour, ie Blackberry Bliss. Margarita's: Rachel's #1, followed by #2 when she experimented with Daffodil Delights/Pumpkin Pie combo - just stunning! Didn't they do well? I love their individual spin on the original card.

Sale-A-Bration 2015: Lotus Blossom Stacked With Love

Of the 11 incredibly irresistible FREE Sale-A-Bration (SAB) items to choose from, the Lotus Blossom stamp set was one of the first ones I chose. This is a 3-step stampin blossom - and isn't the result amazing? This is one of the freebie items when you spend $110 during Sale-A-Bration time, until March 31st 2015. You can use the "stampin off" technique to create a depth of 3 colours by just using one colour, especially if it is a dark colour like the Blackberry Bliss, or as in my case above, I used 2 colours (Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe) to create the 3 colour look. The patterned paper I used here is from the new Stacked With Love DSP Stack from the new Occasions Catalogue . I also added the Gold Baker's Twine , just because I think the card deserves some gold :-) The sentiment is from a retired set named Well Scripted, which has my favourite birthday sentiment of all time. This is such a simple layout/sketch, and a great way to use all those patte...

Sale-a-bration 2015: Big Day

A birthday card for my big boy, featuring the Maritime Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from the Sale-a-bration set Big Day. Notice how I did things a bit different on this card. Subtle, little quirky things like not matting squarely. I also did that on the Whisper White insert on the inside of the card so that I have a strip of white visible on the right when the card is closed. 11 years ago today, this boy made me a first time mummy. Happy birthday Samuel!

Adventure Bound Amazing Birthday

I love this amazing sentiment from the Amazing Birthday stamp set. Stamped directly on the prints from the new Adventure Bound designer series paper stack from the all new Occasions Mini Catalogue, snap - you have an awesome frameable art! I made these "print art" for my customers to put in a frame if they wish to. The Occasions catalogue goes live on the 6th January and at the same time, Sale-a-bration (SAB) starts. If you are new to Stampin Up, then let me tell you that SAB is a much looked forward to annual promotion by Stampin' Up! fans. It's a great time to stock up, be introduced to the art of stamping and /or join the Stampin' Up! family. Showcasing some of the amazing paper in the Adventure Bound designer series paper stack - first up the woods...I sponged the sunrise/set hues on in order to make the sentiment (which was embossed in white) stand out more: Next is the grungy brick wall: And one for the ocean lovers: Last...

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! Hope you are enjoying the lovely weather that has graced us at the beginning of 2015. We're off on our summer hols but I hope to blog once or twice...  Well to celebrate the new year, and also because I would really love to meet my sales target for this month, I have come up with a personal special offer for this month only.
