Did you know Stampin' Up! offers at least 50 colours for all your creative work? All with coordinating card stock, ink pads and markers, and some/most with Stampin' Blends, ribbons and embellishments. Take a look at the range of colours!

So this new year, I thought I shall try to feature one colour each week on Monochromatic Monday.
I hope you will join me too, and use the #monochromaticmondaycard hashtag too.

Today's colour is Misty Moonlight from the 2020-2022 In Color range, which retires with the Annual Catalogue this year at the end of April. So if you like this colour I highly recommend you get it before April.

The marbled paper is from Simply Marbleous 6"x6" Designer Series Paper which is another Level 1 Sale-a-bration item available for FREE during January and February 2022. The strips are cut at 1"x3", so from one 6"x6", you will get 12 strips. Using 4 strips per card, you have enough to make 3 of these cards from one sheet.

Other products also featured in this card:

Bark 3D Embossing Folder

I used this to emboss the Misty Moonlight layer - thought it works for a wavy sea look too.

Tasteful Label Dies

Polished Dots

Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack

I find I use the black and white trim a lot in my cards - I totally recommend that you have some of this in your ribbon and twine stash!

Of course, we can't forget the star of the card - the Awesome Otters stamp set. This one is not available to purchase. You can only get it for free with a qualifying order during the Jan/Feb 2022 Sale-a-bration period.

Awesome Otters

I say it always, one of the best ways to get better at making cards is copy, copy, copy. CASE is the acronym for Copy and Selectively Edit. I have CASED this cute design from Jaimie Babarczy. Here's her otterly cute card!

So you see, you can change elements of a card depending on your preference or it may be that you have limited items and so look for substitution. The point is, you don't always have to come up with an original design. Actually, I personally think, most cards are a combination of designs experienced card makers have built upon. How do you become experienced? Simply this - make the cards! The more cards you make, the more experienced you become.

Until next post, have fun stamping!
